National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

  • The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Our role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and careers.
  • The National Disability Insurance Scheme is implemented entirely by the National Disability Insurance Agency. It is a focused initiative that allows those who qualify to access funded supports that are based on the needs of the individual.
  • Our main objective of the NDIS is to provide all Australians who acquire a permanent disability before the age of 65 which substantially impacts how they manage everyday activities with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.
